FILIP, Jakub
The bachelor thesis deals with the growth ability of pigeons during all four seasons. In the literature review, the thesis starts with an introduction to the domestic pigeon (Columba livia var. domestica), its ancestor the rock pigeon (Columba livia Briss) and its domestication. The next part is an introduction to the sexual system of males and females and the associated reproduction. In the next chapter on nutrition, the thesis deals with the distribution of basic nutrients, the introduction of basic feeds and the nutrition of pigeons. The actual monitoring focuses on monitoring the growth of the pigeons and the associated weighing and ascertainment of growth from day 1 to day 30 of age. The pairs and their offspring were monitored to see if the intensity of growth varied during the seasons. At the end of the study, the monitoring evaluated the effect of seasons on the growth of the offspring.

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to monitor and evaluate the growth performance on a family farm in Nový Kostelec. The growth performance evaluation was carried out on a total of 56 Limousin breeding animals. Weighing of each animal was performed at 120, 210 and 365 days of age. When evaluating the growth ability of the bulls, it was found that the highest growth performance of the bulls in the period from birth to 120 days was achieved in 2021, when the average weight of the bulls was 200,36 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,286 kg, while the best growth performance in the period from 120 to 210 days was achieved in 2022, when the average weight of the bulls at 210 days was 330,84 kg and the average daily gain since birth was 1,464 kg, in the period from 210 to 365 days the best growth performance of the bulls was achieved in 2022 when the average weight of the bulls was 524,08 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,218 kg. The highest average daily gain of bulls since birth was found in 2022 when it was 1,278 kg. In evaluating the growth performance of heifers, it was found that the highest growth performance in the period from birth to 120 days of age was achieved, in 2021, when the average weight was 168,57 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,033 kg, while the best growth performance in the period from 120 to 210 days of age was achieved in 2021, when the average weight at 210 days of age was 292 kg and the average daily gain over the period was 1,366 kg, and in the period from 210 days to 365 days of age the best growth performance was found in 2021 when the average weight of the heifers was 420,16 kg and the average daily gain over the period was 0,830 kg. The highest average daily gain from birth for heifers was obtained in 2021 when it reached 1,057 kg.
Posouzení růstové schopnosti jehňat ve vybraném chovu
KŘELINOVÁ, Pavla
Sheep farming is still expanding due to the unpretentiousness and resilience of some sheep breeds. The advantage of these breeds is that, they graze grass areas even in less accessible areas and thus maintaining the landscape. One of these breeds is the wallachian sheep. The data were drawn from the performance control database from SCHOK (Association of Sheep and Goat Breeders), on the basis of which the growth capacity of this breed in a particular breed was evaluated. This work was focused on the own growth ability of the lambs and the factors that affect this ability (sex and litter frequency). The obtained data and information were compared with KU data (performance check) and with the literature. Data from 2018 - 2021 were used for evaluation.
Vliv způsobu odchovu telat holštýnského plemene skotu na jejich další růstovou schopnost
Čunderle, Jan
The submitted bachelor thesis aims to analyze and evaluate the effect of method of rearing calves holstein breed of cattle on their growth ability. Monitoring was conducted for 24 pieces of calves heifers of holstein breed, in two repetitions in different seasons (spring and fall). One half of the calves were fed with native milk and other milk replacers. Monitoring was repeated by weighing in seven-day intervals. The resulting values of the gains for calves on milk replacers are an average of 0.79 kg/day (1. the period of 0.81 kg/day, 2. the period of 0.77 kg/day), in native milk are the average gains of 0.76 kg/day (1. the period of 0.83 kg/day, 2. the period of 0.69 kg/day). From the detected results, it is shown the minimum difference in the performance of rearing.
Zhodnocení růstové schopnosti telat na vybrané rodinné farmě
Pokorná, Jana
The Bachelor thesis deals with the growth ability of calves at a chosen family farm and it is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, significance of cattle bree-ding and meat yield indicators are defined, such as the fattening performance of fatted cattle and slaughter value. Furthermore, influences affecting meat yield are described including sex, breeding affiliation, stabling system, nutrition, feeding and other influen-ces. The second part of the work focuses on an experiment pursuing a chosen group of bulls that were given dairy as well as vegetable nutrition, weighted and observed, on the basis of which average daily growths are calculated. At the end of this study, it was found out that the farm achieves very favourable growths. When calves were given dai-ry nutrition, the growth reached 1.83 kg/day and when fattened intensively to gain higher slaughter weight, the growth was about 1.86 kg/day.

MALÍK, Dominik
The Thesis The factors affecting sheep meat yield is concentrating on lamb growth ability and the factors which can positively or negatively affect this ability. The basic findings of previous researches and analyses are mentioned at the beginning of the thesis followed by basic classification of lamb meat yield factors. Subsequently, there is an explanation of author's own research where the selected factors were empirically tested. The research took place between years 2013 and 2016 on one flock of sheep on pastures of Orlicke hory region. The birth weight and the weight gain of lambs were monitored in order to evaluate effects of gender, feeding rations and number of lambs in one litter on weight gain ability of each reared lamb. The research has shown that the most important factor is the correct setting of feeding rations while the initial birth weight is mostly influenced by the number of lambs in one litter. On the other hand, the research was unable to prove the effect of gender on the weight gain.
Analysis of sheep utility attributes in ecological and conventional flocks in the Czech Republic
Linhartová, Iveta ; Ptáček, Martin (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis was to perform an analysis of sheep breeding of Suffolk breed in basic reproductive performance and meat production traits aspects. The information for rating these aspects was used from two farms. The first of them used conventional way of breeding (ZVOZD Horácko, družstvo) and the second one used ecological way (EkofarmaKosařůvmlýn, s.r.o.). Fertilization, fertility, intensity and rearing belong among monitored reproductive indicators. These reproductive indicators are expressed in percentages. Regarding meat production traits rating in this thesis we compared influences of year of lambing, farming method, birth month, sex, litter size and age of dam. All these influences were judge according to birth weight (kg), weight at the age of 100 days (kg), average growth (g), depth of the longest dorsal muscle (mm) and according to depth of subcutaneous fat (mm). Reproductive performance and meat production were monitored in years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. In terms of reproductive performance with a few exceptions it was true that ZVOZD Horácko, družstvo reached the best values, and in most cases better than the national average. For example in terms of intensity values in 2012 ZVOZD Horácko, družstvo had 35,9% better results compared to national average. In the same year this farm reached 48,1% higher values of percentage rearing compared to national average. Ekofarma Kosařův mlýn, s.r.o. showed worse performances, however it was in most cases better than national average. In terms of intensity in 2011 Ekofarma Kosařův mlýn, s.r.o. had the same results as the ZVOZD Horácko, družstvo. Meat production properties were supported by statistical calculations and all of them were conclusive at least at the level of significance P < 0,05 in all cases except month of birth effect on birth weight. The best results of meat production in terms of effect of lambing had the year 2012, when the birth weight was one of the highest and the other properties (weight at the age of 100 days, average growth, depth of the longest dorsal muscle, depth of subcutaneous fat) were by far the highest in the period of 2011-2015. Next we found out that the ecological way of breeding (in this case Ekofarma Kosařůvmlýn, s.r.o.) has better results than the conventional way (ZVOZD Horácko, družstvo). The effect of birthmonth has the significant influence on the indicators of meat production and the lambs born in April had the best results. In the case of sex rams are better. Litter size has very important influence on meat production the more lambs per one mother, the lower birth weights, the lower weights until the period of weaning, the lower weights at the age of 100 days. It is affected by milkiness of the mother. Moreover, the age of mothers also play a significant role. In our research the highest birth weights had lambs of one year old mothers and all other indicators were the highest in the case of three year old dams.
Analysis of sheep utility attributes in Valachian sheep in selected flock.
Habětínová, Kateřina ; Ptáček, Martin (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The aim of my Diploma thesis was to evaluate a basic reproductive, milky and growth characters of sheep tribe Wallachian sheep in the chosen facility. The monitoring of the reproductive fiures has been made in years 2012, 2013 and 2014. There have not been shown any results for the year 2015, that is why these particular figures are not explicit. The measures of reproductive figures of Wallachian sheep were compared to the average of Czech republic. The evaluation of the figures given at the chosen farm has had a good results in all four evaluated figures (fertilization, fertility, intensity and nursling). The evaluation of an utility value processed in 2015. The milk production in order of the milk utility value (% fat, % proteins, % kasein, % lactose, % TPS, % solilds) has been dependent from the authority of mother sheep as well as the influence of the countability of farrow. The influence of mother sheep´s age on the milk production has had a demonstrable influence mainly on the milk sicking and the percentage of fatty solids (TPS). The best results have been achieved on three aged sheep and the worst results on five aged sheep. At the percentage of proteins and kasein there has also been fount the explicit impact of mother´s age. Differences have been measured also on the fat percentage, milk and solid with a statistically provable measures. The impact of a farrow´s countability on the milk utility has been proved in milk sicking. Mothers with geminus sicked in average 93 g milk more. This difference was apparent on the level of detectability P < 0,05. The evaluation of meat utility processed in the year 2015 where the birth weight of lambs and their growth abilities (40, 70, 100 and 140 days of age) were measured. Sex influence on meat utility has been statistically demonstrable on the weight at the age of 70 and 140 days. In both cases the fleeces showed biger weight. Also another measurements have showed the gaps between the weight of fleeces and lambs on the fleeces´s behalf. The mother´s age influence on meat utility has not been statistically proved in any of figures although the measured figures have been slightly rising. The results can serve as a preparation or adaptation of these sheep cultivation as well as an improvement of their utility.
Analysis of a growing ability of the chicken hybrid in the chosen company
MASÁROVÁ, Anna
The bachelor thesis deals with the use of potential growth ability of commercial broiler Ross 308.27,100 chickens were enrolled in the summer batch and it was finished after 36 days of fattening. 26,500 chickens were in the winter batch and it was finished at the age of 37 days. Although hybrids in the summer batch were one day younger, they achieved better fattening parameters. Their average final live weight was 140 g higher and feed consumption per 1 kg weight gain was 14 g lower. The mortality in the summer batch was 2.24% and 4% in the winter batch. 100 individuals were weighed everyday during fattening period. External influences, particularly temperature and feeding technique, that was not optimal, caused that the absolute difference in the live weight at the end of the batch reached 72 g in the summer batch and 491 g in the winter batch in comparison with the technical guidelines. The average coefficient of variation for the whole fattening period was in the summer batch 9.3% (moderate uniform flock) and in the winter batch was 12.9% (a little uniform flock).
